Wampums, ScoutsTracker and MyScouts: what each one does

Scouts Canada sections already use two tools: MyScouts, where members register, and ScoutsTracker, the official app for tracking badges and awards. Wampums does not replace MyScouts, and it overlaps with ScoutsTracker only on badges and attendance. This page sets out what each one does, so you can decide what your section needs.

MyScouts: registration with Scouts Canada

MyScouts is where families and volunteers register with Scouts Canada and where groups manage their membership; leaders can export their section’s member list from it. Wampums has no link with MyScouts. Units registered with Scouts Canada keep registering their members there.

ScoutsTracker: the official badge tracker

ScoutsTracker calls itself the official app of Scouts Canada; Dakemi Communications provides it under the Scouts Canada name. It runs in a browser, with offline access. It tracks badges and awards with their percentage of completion, manages Outdoor Adventure Skills, credits requirements when attendance is recorded, and gives parents a login that shows only their child’s records. Its site lists a free personal account and a section account at $44.95 a year or less, with group, area and council discounts.

Where Wampums overlaps, and where it does not

Wampums also tracks badges and attendance, but the Canadian Path is not preloaded: we set up your section’s badges with you. If tracking the Canadian Path is all your section needs, ScoutsTracker is built for it. Wampums covers the rest of the week: permission slips and forms signed from a link, health forms and medication, carpools, fees and budgets, and messages to each family in its own language.

Using them together

Nothing stops a section from tracking badges in ScoutsTracker and running everything else in Wampums. There is no sync between them, so a section that uses both records badges in one place only. Members keep registering in MyScouts.

Where the data lives

Each unit’s Wampums database and files are hosted in Quebec, at OVHcloud’s Beauharnois data centre. The few outside services, such as Brevo for email, are listed in our privacy policy with what each receives.

Questions about Wampums, ScoutsTracker and MyScouts

Does Wampums replace MyScouts?

No. MyScouts remains where members register with Scouts Canada, and Wampums has no link with it.

Does Wampums replace ScoutsTracker?

Only if you want it to. Both track badges and attendance, but the Canadian Path is not preloaded in Wampums: we set up your section’s badges with you. A section can keep ScoutsTracker for badges and use Wampums for forms, health, carpools, finances and messages.

Can Wampums sync with ScoutsTracker or MyScouts?

No. There is no sync with either one.

Is Wampums only for Scouts Canada groups?

No. Roles, forms and the names of sections and subgroups are set by each unit, so other scout associations, Guides, Cadets and youth groups use it too.
